Radicado en Nueva York desde el 2000, el guitarrista/compositor argentino Carlos Pavan combina ritmos de tango/folklore con armonias de jazz y tecnica clasica. Estudio con el legendario maestro Jorge Morel, Dave Smey (Brooklyn conservatory) y Pablo Ziegler (pianista de Astor Piazzolla). Carlos ha grabado 3 discos (solo guitarra, con cuarteto de cuerdas y ensamble de camara) con sus composiciones originales y se ha presentado en Francia, Irlanda, Portugal y Japon. Tambien publica sus composiciones en diferentes editoriales en USA y Europa.
Ahora tenemos el honor de tenerlo en nuestra escena para una noche de concierto.

Carlos Pavan, born in Argentina and living in New York since 2000, is part of a new wave of modern classical guitar composers combining tango/folklore rhythms with jazz harmonies and classical technique/forms. He is a former student of maestro Jorge Morel, Dave Smey (Brooklyn Conservatory) and Pablo Ziegler (Astor Piazzolla's pianist). Carlos has performed internationally in France, Canada, Portugal, Ireland, Japan and recorded three albums with his compositions including special guest contemporary string quartet PUBLIQuartet (Carnegie Hall debut 2015).

 

”Mr. Pavan worships at the altar of originality while remaining true to his Argentinean roots" (The World Music Report). At the present he is the artistic director/composer of Trio Concertante and Park Slope Chamber Players with a new album released by legendary Centaur Records label.  His compositions have been published worldwide.
